Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office News Release • May 2, 2025
(Rockingham County, NC) – On 04/30/2025 after an extensive investigation a Search Warrant was executed at 460 Comer Rd. Stoneville N.C. by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division. As a result of the investigation, 2,126 grams of Fentanyl/opium mixture, 15 grams of Cocaine, 123 grams Methamphetamine, 2 grams Marijuana,62 pills, Drug Paraphernalia, 12.5 gm of mushrooms, 19 dosages units of suboxone, 3 guns and one vehicle were seized throughout the duration of the investigation.
Subsequently, 59-year-old Jimmy Lee Leonard Jr, of 460 Comer Rd. Stoneville NC was charged, and arrested for the following crimes; 2 counts of Felony level 1 trafficking opium or heroin, 1 count of Felony Level 3 trafficking opium or heroin, 2 counts of Felony Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine, 5 counts Felony Level 1 Trafficking Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Schedules I, II, III, and IV (4 separate charges) , 1 Count of Felony Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Misdemeanor Maintaining Dwelling, 2 counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. Jimmy Lee Leonard Jr. was placed in the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility under a $2,000,000.00 Secured Bond. and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7, 2025
Per the United States DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) 1 gram of fentanyl has the potential to lethally overdose 500 people. The seizures resulting from this investigation could have prevented over 1,000,000 lives lost. Sheriff Sam Page and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Reidsville Police Department for their assistance in this investigation which is still ongoing at this time.
